SaaS Tools and Resources

Welcome to The Cirrostratus Group June newsletter.

The KBCM SaaS survey, formerly Pacific Crest SaaS SaaS survey, is now in it's 11th year. I find it one of the more useful surveys because of the high level of participation and the amount of data. Of course any survey like this is dependent on senior executives taking the time to provide their input and I would encourage you to take the time to fill out the survey prior to this Thursday's deadline (July 2nd).

Now that most large events, including vendor conferences, have been turned into virtual events there is a great opportunity to access excellent content. I recently attended most of the sessions from Gainsight's Pulse conference and there were a variety of presenters on various customer success topics and they also did a great job of having a virtual conference and making it interesting. All of the conference content is available online for free and is a great resource.

Below I've highlighted some reviews of software tools that you likely need for your SaaS business and the results of a SaaS product survey which I found helpful.

I'm always interested in hearing about your cloud applications. Stay safe and healthy.

Measuring end to end performance of your SaaS application, as your end users experience performance, is critical especially as you move your product into new geographies. A free copy of Gartner's recent Magic Quadrant for application performance monitoring software is available here.

Sometimes it makes sense to use outside services for managing your cloud infrastructure. Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Public Cloud Infrastructure Managed and Professional Services provides insights into the best vendors to provide this capability. A free copy is available here.

Openview Partners, a venture firm focused on SaaS, recently published survey results from their product survey. The results are available here. The survey results include data on product led growth, the customer journey, acquisition and retention, the natural rate of growth and active use metrics. It's good to see that 80% of SaaS companies of all sizes are measuring their customers usage on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Active use is a great way to tell how engaged your customers are.
