Sabal Palm Spotlight
Supporting your local Non-Profit Organizations

2020 has brought unprecedented change and challenges to our country. The needs of our local non-profits are still there, and in many cases they are larger. Here are some upcoming events from our local organizations aimed at supporting those in our communities that could use a hand-up during these challenging times.
600 Tons of Food and Over $3.6 Million in Food Gift Cards
This is the amazing amount of donations the Mayor's Feed the Hungry program has collected since 1987. Each year this event runs from November 1st to November 15th, to assure that no child goes hungry during the holidays. Want to help? Follow the link below for information.

Named 2020 Non-Profit of the year by the Venice Chamber
Laurel Civic Association provides a holistic approach to improving the lives of low-income families in south Sarasota County with programs that address food insecurity, homelessness, and educational support for children and adults. COVID-19 has seen an increase in need for assistance, especially from low-wage workers, for help to get through these challenging times.
The Louis and Gloria Flanzer Philanthropic Trust will match every gift $5-$500 that is designated to support Laurel Civic through the end of 2020. Click on the link below and make sure to choose Laurel Civic Association as the recipient.

Over $41,000 in 2020
This relatively new local non-profit is making a big difference for our local needs. Based on the premise that much more can be accomplished when passionate women come together to benefit shared causes.
This organization supported 23 local organizations in 2020 and their plan is to continue to grow.

Their newest event, Vegas Comes to the Ranch, will raise funds for their annual gifts. Click below to register.
