Sables Mission To further the understanding of our outdoor heritage, including the positive role of hunting, through the creation and support of wildlife and conservation education programs that are consistent with the educational mission and purposes of SCI and SCI Foundation.

Sables Leaders Gather Virtually for Annual Strategic Planning Meeting Sables meet annually in conjunction with the SCI August Board Meeting to evaluate prior year successes, identify areas of development and set new goals for the coming year. This year was no different except for the way the meeting was conducted. Thankfully for technology, Sables carried out important strategic planning work to move forward in support of SCIF Education Programs. Planning for the future in uncertain times is daunting, but we remained positive focusing on opening the American Wilderness Leadership School in the summer of 2021.  The Elections Committee has worked hard to recruit Sables members to serve in leadership roles and join committees for the coming year. I want to thank Len Dickinson for his commitment to serve as Secretary on the Sables Governing Board and Joy Peterman for her commitment to serve as District Elector representing the Eastern Region.

Plans for the Sables Annual Luncheon Show and Auction are moving forward and donations from our generous donors are coming in. The luncheon is scheduled on Friday, February 5, 2021 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.  Registration for SCI’s Annual Hunters' Convention is now open, and you can purchase tickets to the Sables Annual Luncheon Show and Auction when you register for the show.  Remember, it’s not just a lady’s luncheon anymore; men are welcome and encouraged to attend. Be sure to buy your tickets early and secure your seat. Limitations due to Covid-19 could limit ballroom seating capacity, so don’t delay.  Register and buy your tickets today.
