Dear Compatriots and Friends,
We continue commemorate the 250th anniversary of our nation’s journey toward freedom. Looking ahead, the Chapter is shifting focus toward planning for the coming year. The Executive Board is currently facingimportant decisions, and we urge all members to be engaged—your voice and your presence are essential.
The next business meeting on November 1st will be crucial for planning and organizing the chapter for next year. If you are interested in serving in a role or any type of capacity within the chapter, please attend the meeting.
With many of our long-time leaders and volunteers stepping back due to age or other commitments, we are confronting a difficult truth: without new volunteers stepping forward, some of our valued programs—particularly those supporting youth and community outreach—may need to be scaled back or discontinued altogether. The Board has resolved that programs without volunteer leadership cannot continue.
I strongly encourage you to attend, share your thoughts, and consider where you might lend your time and talents. Together, we can continue to honor our mission and ensure the strength and success of our Chapter.
In patriotism and fellowship,
Nicolas Gauthier

Founding Forward's Good Citizen Day
| | |
On September 22, 2025, the first ever Good Citizen Day outside of the historic Union League House took place in Sacramento California. Sacramento Chapter Compatriots Larry Brasher, Jim McGraw and David Dance were active participants and helped make this event a success.
In addition to recognizing and celebrating these young civic leaders, Good Citizen Day is a day of education, focused on the U.S. Constitution, critical thinking, and civil discourse. This day in Sacramento was no different. There were 67 high school sophomores and juniors from 23 different schools, nominated by 20 youth-serving organizations. The students explored constitutional issues, engaged in spirited debates, and participated in a mock trial program. The day culminated in a celebratory moment where all 67 students received the new Founding Forward Good Citizenship Award – a three-part award consisting of a certificate, medal, and lapel pin. Students left inspired, challenged, and equipped with the tools to be thoughtful, informed citizens in their communities.

Fellow Compatriots
As we approach the end of 2025, we are looking forward to celebrating the 250th anniversary of the ratification of the Declaration of Independence and our nations founding. The Sacramento Chapter is the largest chapter in the California Society. Historically, we have been a very active participant in many SAR programs; these were supported by chapter compatriots who served their community to carry on the legacy of the freedoms that their patriot ancestors have left us.
Unfortunately, as our active members age out, our members have not stepped forward to fill these vacancies. We need your help to keep the "Spirit of 76" alive in our community. Can you spare 10-15 hours a year to help with our programs? Click on the links below for more information on these positions or contact me at craigandersonsar@gmail.com. Let's keep alive the legacy of your patriot ancestor's sacrifices.

Cyber Scams
If you receive an email from a purported Compatriot in need of help that is unsigned, with no personal contact information seeking contributions to any type of fundraising site; or an email addressing you by name from another member of your Chapter requesting the expenditure of funds or the purchase of gift cards, consider it a hoax. These messages are getting more sophisticated and may even include the unauthorized use of the SAR logo and/or a pseudo SAR email address.
