PERU: The Symbolism of The Chakana, or Andean Cross


🌟 In the Andean World the Chakana, or Andean Cross, is one of the most enduring symbols of the ancient Inca civilization.❓ What does it mean? 👉🌟👉 Here's the interpretation from the Qero Elders, Masters of the Inca Spiritual Tradition who we've studied with since 1993.

👉 The circular hole at the heart of the symbol represents the city of Cusco, the capital of the Inca Empire and navel of the Incan world.

👉 Surrounding this circle are four corners, ridged with three steps each which represent one of the Three Worlds of the Inca belief system.

1) The Lower or Underworld, the Ucu Pacha, represented by the snake.

2) The Middle World, that of humans, the Kay Pacha and represented by the puma.

3) The Upper World, the Hanan Pacha, represented by the condor.

👉 The other corners are believed by some to represent the values of the Inca culture. For example, one corner may represent love (munay), knowledge (yachay) and work (llankay).

👉 The Archaeological Rescue Foundation has been given permission

to release a document outlining the master plan for

a new Hawara Rescue Project starting now (early 2026)!

This plan was written and coordinated

by Louis De Cordier, who also led the 2008 Mataha Expedition at the site.

The plan is to address active water damage and recover the lost historical archive

at Hawara, Fayoum Oasis, Egypt!
Which means the lost underground Labyrinth!

😮 I've been fascinated by this research for years, ever since I followed

De Cordier's Mataha Expedition in 2007/2008!

Myself, Mark Amaru Pinkham, and some of our 2010 Sacred Sites Journeys

group members went to the Fayoum Oasis area to explore it

before our pilgrimage in Egypt that year.

We couldn't get access into the underground part of it,

but could feel the energy, which btw was way off the charts!

💥 💥 I plan to take our 2028 Egypt group back to the area,
