Dearest Family and Friends of St. Paul’s:

It is with great sadness and shock that I write you with the news that we have lost Diane.

We were vacationing with good friends from Seminary for a few days this past week. Diane died in her sleep early Wednesday morning. She did not suffer. There were no warning signs of the fatal heart attack that would take her from us far too soon. She was the picture of health. She exercised and saw the doctor annually.

I know this comes as a shock and is devastating news that we will all need to process as a community. At this time, however, Amanda and I ask for your prayers and patience as we grieve privately. Should you wish to reach out to us, text messages or emails are welcome. We ask for time and space as we live into our new reality.

St. Paul’s will hold both services tomorrow (8 and 10), but they may look a little different as we make room for silence and prayer. Nina will be here as will Bishop Mark. Canon Pattie Ames will be with us to lead Children’s Chapel.

Nina will be available throughout the week to sit or talk or pray with you. You will find her in the church sanctuary each day, 11-1 and 5-6.

As sad as we are, we steadfastly remain people of faith in the resurrection, and we know Diane is now in the nearer presence of God, whom she adored, served, and loved. She loved you all so much, as do we.

Love in Christ,

Todd and Amanda Vie
