It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Colonel George "Chuck" L. Adams III, U.S. Army (Ret.), OD on August 4, 2025, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Dr. Adams was a distinguished past President of AFOS and a Life Member of both AFOS and the AOA. His exemplary 32-year military career included serving as Chief of U.S. Army Optometry at the Office of the Surgeon General, earning multiple awards such as the Legion of Merit and Meritorious Service Medals, and later contributing to the optometric community as a beloved practitioner at The Wright Eye Center in Colorado Springs.
