JAN 5-12, 2024

Brookwood kicked off winter break with an Esports state championship, the program's third in three years. Our Smash Bros. Ultimate team of Evan Duernberger, Sean Pozsgay and Kyle Surajh came home with the top trophy, and Mario Kart and League of Legends teams both took second. Academics, General News

Brookwood Debate Team held its first tournament, centering on the topic of whether education is required for voting. The affirmative side (Simone Rajput, Kevin Jojo, Sophia Lin, RIyaan Maherali, and Naya Dejesus) won by a 3-point difference, and Kevin won the best debater award.


Student Talent Show: JAN 12

Friday, JAN 12, 7:30 PM in the Theatre. Tickets will go on sale starting Wednesday, JAN 10, for $8. Tickets will also be available at the door for $10. Cash only.


No School on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Monday, JAN 15, is a districtwide school holiday to commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr's birthday.


Miss Brookwood Scholarship Pageant

Saturday, JAN 20, 7 PM in the theatre. The 43rd annual scholarship pageant will be preceded by a brief PTSA meeting, beginning at 6:45 PM. To see names and photos of all the contestants and to purchase for $15 tickets, scroll though this PTSA webpage.

Driver's Education: February/March Session

FEB 20 - MAR 7: Offered through the Brookwood Community School, the course consists of 30 hours of classroom instruction and six hours of driving. Students must have a permit prior to the start of class. Classes meet 2:30-5:30 PM on T, W, TH. Register on MyPaymentsPlus for $345. The course satisfies the Joshua Law requirement.

Senior dues increase March 1.

Pay Scholastic Images JAN 10 and 11 during lunch in The Commons, or pay online any time. Dues are currently $150 and increase to $170 on March 1.

Fine Arts

Senior Sydni Shavers earned first prize for digital manipulation in this year's GCPS Shutter Sense Nonsense Photography Exhibition. She is among four Broncos to place first in a category. In all 17 Broncos earned recognition. See the list here. View their photography here.

JAN 20 - FEB 10 at the Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center. Come see all the winning photographs at the Annual Shutter Sense Nonsense Photography Exhibition. The show reception will be held Saturday, FEB 10 at 2 PM.

Cheerleader for a Day for K-8th

Friday, JAN 12: Open to Brookwood Cluster students in grades K-8th to meet our varsity cheerleaders and learn a chant and dance to perform between the varsity basketball games. Participants will have dinner and receive a bow to wear for the performance. All should wear a white Bronco spirit shirt with any leggings or shorts. Complete this Google Form to register. On the day of the event, bring proof of insurance and $25.
