Bridge Group 18C_R – Frenchtown, East Greenwich/ North Kingstown
Although no lane closures are expected next week at this project, we’ll be performing several construction activities. They include installing drainage and backfilling for the new bridge at the Frenchtown Road Bridge, adjusting the roadway alignment, and installing formwork for the new concrete deck and new drainage and utilities at the South County Trail Bridge, and installing new utilities at the Devil’s Foot Road Bridge.

I-95 15 Bridges, Providence/Cranston/Warwick
Next week, we are scheduled to install steel at the Huntington North Bridge, carrying Route 10 North over I-95, Monday-Thursday nights from midnight to 4:30 a.m. This involves a detour of I-95 South to Route 10 North to Reservoir Avenue. We also plan to drill micropiles at the Eddy Street southbound bridge over I-95 and do barrier work over Amtrak at the I-95 North ramp to Elmwood Avenue and the Route 10 Viaduct over I-95. Expect alternating lane closures for this bridge work, Sunday-Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. We apologize in advance for any noise our operations at this project may cause and please follow signed detours during all closures.

The I-95 ‘Missing Move’ and Quonset Ramps Construction, North Kingstown/East Greenwich
Tonight, Friday, May 29, we are scheduled to shift all travel lanes within the Route 1 (Post Road) project area to the west. This will create a work zone in the east shoulder for sidewalk and crosswalk improvements. Expect alternating lane closures on Route 1, at its intersection with Devil’s Foot Road, Route 403 and Gate Road, from 9 p.m. tonight through 5 a.m. tomorrow morning, May 30. While these improvements are taking place, pedestrians walking along Post Road will need to follow a short detour, which will last through late July. Next week, expect a left lane closure with frequent vehicle access in/out of the work zone to haul construction materials on Route 4 North, in the vicinity of Division Street (Exits 9A and 9B), Sunday-Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. During the same nights and hours, we’ll have milling and paving operations involving alternating lane closures on Route 2 (Quaker Lane), in the vicinity of I-95. Please use caution when driving over milled surfaces.

Post Road & West Main Street Curb & Sidewalk, North Kingstown
Right lane closures with narrowed lanes, possible shifts and frequent vehicle access in/out of the work zone are expected next week for drainage installation along Route 1 (Post Road), from Camp Avenue to West Main Street, Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Motorists may also encounter restrictions on street parking, and access to driveways or walkways. Rhode Island Energy crews will also continue to focus on their drainage and project-wide gas main installations, and North Kingstown Water will continue their water line work, from Richard Smith Drive to West Main Street.

Route 37 Improvements, Cranston/Warwick
Bridge Group 51B: I-295 area
Roadway and bridge improvements will require alternating lane closures on both directions of I-295 in the vicinity of Route 37, and a right shoulder closure on I-295 North at Exit 3A (Route 37 West), Sunday-Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Guardrail improvements necessitate alternating lane closures on I-295 North, in the vicinity of Exit 7 (Scituate Avenue), Sunday-Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., and hauling of construction materials on I-295 in the vicinity of Route 37 will require frequent vehicle access in/out of the work zone and shoulder closures, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Bridge Group 51C: I-295 to Pontiac Avenue and from Amtrak to Post Road
Our ongoing bridge work continues next week at this project. On Route 37 West, over the Oaklawn Avenue Bridge, we are scheduled to build the median barrier, with a right lane closure, Monday night from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Parapet work requires the closure of Route 5 (Oaklawn Avenue) under Route 37, Sunday and Monday nights from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Demolition at the Post Road Bridge will involve a right lane closure on Route 37 East over the bridge, Sunday-Thursday nights from 8 pm. to 5 a.m., and a single lane closure on both directions along Post Road, under Route 37 East, Sunday-Thursday nights from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. We also need to close New London Avenue South under Route 37 for bridge work, Tuesday-Thursday nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Daytime drainage work and new ramp construction requires alternating lane closures on Post Road, under Route 37, Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 a.m. Weekday operations not requiring any traffic impacts include building the east and west abutments at the New London Avenue Bridge, installing temporary barrier at the Hillsgrove Bridge over Amtrak, and relocating utility poles and building new sidewalks at the Post Road Bridge. Please follow signed detours during all closures.

Route 146 Bridges, Lincoln
Overnight bridge painting will require alternating lane closures on both directions of Route 146 before and after the Twin River Road Bridge, Sunday-Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Daytime bridge joint work also involves alternating lane closures along Breakneck Hill Road and Twin River Road, before and after the Breakneck Hill and Twin River Road bridges, respectively. One lane in each direction will be maintained at both bridges, Monday-Friday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
We’re paving several locations within the project area next week. This work will require many road, exit/ramp and lane closures, Sunday-Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. These include the closures of Exit 10 (Route 146A) off Route 146 North and South and the Route 146 North and South Service Roads, between Route 99 and Route 146, with detours to Route 146 North and South. The Route 146 North Service Road to Route 146 North, the west side of Sayles Hill Road, from Route 146 to Iron Mine Hill Road, Route 146A South at Dowling Village Boulevard, and the on-ramp from Route 146A South to Route 146 North will also be closed and detoured. Other scheduled closures include alternating lanes on the east side of Sayles Hill Road, from Route 99 to Route 146, the diversion of westbound traffic from Route 99, and the restriction for all left hand turns from Route 146 North at Sayles Hill Road. Traffic under the Sayles Hill Road Bridge will also not be permitted during paving operations. Please follow signed detours during all closures.

School Street, Lincoln
Watermain installation and drainage work continue along the closed section of School Street, from Route 126 (Old River Road) to Main Street in Albion. Milling and paving from Main Street to Berkshire Drive is also scheduled. Local access remains, but the road is closed to through traffic, with a detour in place, weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Warwick Corridor Project
Next week at this project, expect a lane shift as crews continue removing the old and installing the new concrete sidewalks and curbing on Route 113 (Main Avenue) East, from Greenwich Avenue to West Shore Road, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Construction-related activities continue on the Washington Bridge Rebuild project, with design, survey, site preparation, the ordering of materials, and mobilization of equipment.
The design-build contractor continues to install piles in the laydown area adjacent to Gano Street weekdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. These piles will be part of a pier that will be used to provide equipment access to the water once construction begins on the bridge later this spring. Vibration and noise monitoring as well as erosion control will be in place.
Bridge preservation work is scheduled at the Providence River (Iway Bridge). Expect a left lane closure on I-95 South, just prior to Exit 36A, and extending the length of the exit ramp until it merges with I-195 East, Sunday night, May 31 from 8 pm. to 5 a.m. Motorists can also expect a left lane closure on I-195 West, from the Providence River Bridge to the merge with I-95 North, Tuesday night, June 2, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. On I-195 West, over the Providence River Bridge, from just prior to Exit 1C to the I-95 North and South split, expect one right lane to be closed from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., and two right lanes to be closed from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., Sunday-Wednesday nights, June 7-10. At the same location, motorists can also expect one left lane to be closed from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. and two left lanes to be closed from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Thursday night, June 11.
