Meg Distler earns Founders Award

from Healthier Moms & Babies

Healthier Moms and Babies (HMB) honored St. Joseph Community Health Foundation Executive Director Meg Distler with its Founders Award, recognizing her role in co-founding the organization in 1996. From the beginning, St. Joe Foundation has prioritized supporting the health of pregnant women, infants, and young families. 


Distler, as the Executive Director for the past 27 years, has provided leadership and a personal commitment to numerous strategies addressing maternal and infant health. During this period, the St. Joe Board of Directors also chose to award and facilitate 60 grants to HMB totaling...

Poor Handmaids elect new provincial leadership

The St. Joseph Community Health Foundation congratulates the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ on electing their 2025 – 2029 Province Leadership Team, which took office following installation at Ancilla Domini Chapel in Donaldson, Indiana, on November 8, 2025.


The St. Joe Foundation was established in 1998 by the Poor Handmaids when they sold St. Joseph Medical Center to continue their ministry of enabling everyone in the community to access health and wellness care. Today, the Foundation is led by a local Board of Directors committed to continuing the legacy of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ and the spirit of Saint Katharina Kasper.
