Clarification & Thanks

We would like to clarify an error in our newsletter regarding The Rise Fund at First UMC Dallas. The Rise Fund is not a foundation, but a mission-focused initiative of First UMC Dallas that raises and distributes funding to support ministries carried out by trusted community partners.

We sincerely apologize for the mischaracterization and deeply appreciate The Rise Fund’s vital role in strengthening and resourcing impactful community-based work. We are especially grateful for their continued support and partnership with organizations like ours, helping us extend our reach and serve more individuals in need.

Where Growth Meets Purpose

Q1 2026: A Quarter of Strong Growth and Community Impact!

We are thrilled to share the highlights of a successful first quarter for Body and Soul Dallas! Thanks to your incredible support and our disciplined financial management, we ended Q1 2026 in a very strong position.

🚀 Soaring Beyond Expectations: Our ending bank balance of $59,041 significantly surpassed our target, providing a healthy financial cushion for future initiatives. We achieved a remarkable $33,435 surplus for the quarter, reflecting both generous donations and careful expense management.

💖 Generosity in Action: We are incredibly grateful for the renewed commitment from The Rise Fund at First UMC Dallas with their second annual $10,000 grant, and consistent support from Highland Park Presbyterian Church. A special thanks to two individual families whose substantial donations of $20,000 and $10,000 made a huge impact!

🎉 "Party on the Lot" - A Resounding Success! In March, we turned an unexpected scheduling conflict into an exciting community event! Our first-ever "Party on the Lot" brought together over 130 guests and donors for an afternoon of music, fun, and delicious BBQ. It was a wonderful demonstration of community spirit and support, and a testament to our adaptable team!

📈 Impact Where It Matters: We continue to ensure your donations go directly to those in need. Our program spending remains strong at 77% of our total budget, well above non-profit guidelines, meaning more direct services for our community.

✨ Looking Ahead: This quarter, we officially became Body and Soul Dallas! We're also planning essential bathroom renovations, exploring new partnerships with community organizations like Operation Ground Support for "family food boxes" and "home furnishing support". We are also expanding our team to include more counselors for our "Connect" and "Journey Partners" programs. Our goal is to continue evolving into a "helping hand" organization, empowering individuals to move forward.

Thank you for being an essential part of the Body and Soul Dallas family.

Your support makes all of this possible!
