2020 Board Elections
SPFGA Board Elections are just around the corner!

Please join us on Saturday, December 12 from 2:00 to 3:30 pm to elect your new Board.

The SPFGA needs you to attend and tell us which candidates you feel are most likely to bring the leadership and continuous improvements you’d like to see. And hopefully, one of those candidates is you...please consider putting your name forward for one of the positions up for election!
Election meeting virtual this year

Normally, our elections are in-person events. This year however, we will be meeting remotely via Microsoft Teams.

All SPFGA members are invited to attend to meet your election candidates and ask them questions. No registration is needed to attend the election meeting itself. And if you don't have a computer, no worries - Teams works on smartphones & tablets too!

On December 12 click the button below to join:
We recommend joining 5 minutes prior.
Pre-register to vote

Any SPFGA member in good standing, 16 years of age or older, is eligible to vote in elections.

Voting this year will be conducted remotely following the meeting and requires pre-registration.

Register yourself using the button below to receive a ballot. Ballots will be sent out by email following the meeting.

Each member must have their own individual email address to vote in this election. You will register to vote with this address and your ballot will be emailed to you there. Please note: Only one ballot can be sent to each email address.

Don't have individual email addresses for everyone in your family? No worries – there are many options for setting up a free email available. Here are nine free places you can set up an email address for yourself.
Up for election this year

In accordance with SPFGA bylaws, half of Board positions come up for election each year, ensuring a balance between turnover and continuity from year to year.

The term for each position is two years, with the exception of Secretary and Political Action this year, which are coming up for election midway through their term.

Click on each position to see its job description.

Consider taking on a Board position

We urge every member to consider taking on a Board position. Your ability to influence the club's direction that begins with your vote reaches it ultimate extent with a role on the Board.

We encourage you to think about this. If the idea is interesting to you (and we hope it is), please complete a Board Nomination Information Package and email it to the Nomination Committee by Monday, December 7, 2020.

Not all of these positions require you to be an expert in that area to run – for some of them, you can learn what you need as you go. The most important ingredient is the desire to make a difference.
Please join us on December 12!

Whether or not you decide to run though, the club needs you to pre-register to cast your ballot and to join us for the election meeting on December 12. These are the clearest ways you can tell us which directions you would like to see things move in.

Come out and tell us which candidates (could even be you!) you feel are most likely to create the change you’d like to see in the club!

Why am I getting this email?
Receiving safety and membership-related system emails is one of the membership obligations stated in the Membership Terms and Conditions you accepted when registering or renewing your membership.

Safe and Sound emails are those system messages.

Given the nature of Safe and Sound emails we do not expect there will be many throughout the year, but they are critically important.
