The Safety Council of Southwest Louisiana in coordination with The Lake Area Industrial Alliance (LAIA) and Southwest Louisiana Construction Users Council (SLCUC) celebrates achievements in safety once per year. These awards are presented at the annual “Contractor Safety Awards Banquet”. In order to truly honor these deserving companies and maintain a safe environment we are conducting these awards virtually. We encourage companies to participate in a Lunchtime Watch Party!

Training Room Rental is available Monday through Friday in both our Lake Charles and Sulphur locations. Discounts are available for Safety Council members. In addition, our business hours may be adjusted to accommodate your company needs with an advanced notice.

Table seating, podium, presenter's computer, ceiling mounted projector and screens are included in the room rental. Email us for more information.
Enjoy the ease of and comfort of your facility as our certified instructors deliver quality training at your site. This convenient service provides all technology, manuals, and equipment utilized in our training centers to allow for a consistent, standardized experience for both our computer-based and instructor-led programs.
Do you need After-Hours services? If your company requires flexible training support outside of normal operating hours. With a range of classroom sizes and technologies, your training needs can be met in a secure, private training space.

COSS - Certified Occupational Safety Specialist

COSS® is a training program designed by safety professionals for the entry level person, or for the experienced safety person who needs a refresher on safety. Its main objective is to equip employees who have safety and health responsibilities, with the core competencies they must master to be successful in occupational safety and health.

The member cost for the COSS class is $1,899. If you are not a member of the Safety Council of Southwest Louisiana, the cost of the course is $2,099. Select course code 13COSS in the Class Registration portal.
 
Safe Supervisor

Achieving an injury-free workplace takes more than a catchy phrase or one individual championing the cause. It takes a team effort. All workers need to be engaged in the safety culture.
