Congrats Bryce Knapp & Rodney Watkins!
|
|
While setting up a 220-volt welder, Bryce Knapp needed an extension cord to reach the bucket that needed to be welded. The plastic cover on the female end was broken, exposing all internal electrical connections.

Great catch Bryce, thank you!

Rodney Watkins noticed that trees were smoking at the school across from Orchard Road lay down yard. Upon further investigation, he found the limbs were rubbing the power wires, causing arcing and burning. Rodney notified the school and they called the power company, who then came and cut the limbs away from the power lines.

Way to look out for your community Rodney, great work!

Thank you to everyone who submitted a Good Catch/Near Miss report. Below are some recent submissions that have helped prevent potential injuries:
|
|
While loading trucks, Daniel Webster noticed oil drips on the ground and checked to see where the oil was coming from. He found leaking around an engine oil filter, and reported it to maintenance. Upon inspection, maintenance found a loose oil filter.
While performing his pre-trip inspection, David MacMurty got in his truck to do a tug on his trailer, and found that his fifth wheel was not locked. It appeared as though someone had backed it under the trailer but did not latch the fifth wheel.
During his pre-trip inspection, Mark McGinnis noticed that his landing gear was left halfway down.
Paul Ricard was hauling hogback and after dumping his load, he looked over the truck and noticed there was a crack in the tilt fifth wheel pin mount.
Jonathan Nielson found a section of AC pipe in an excavation trench. He grabbed it out of the spoils pile, and the pipe was bagged.
Daniel Brown noticed a nylon strap rubbing on a metal clip, causing it to fray. He immediately notified the operator on the radio and moved the strap so work could continue on.
