Dear LT Community,

As Lyons Township High School prepares for the upcoming school year, we want to make our community aware of two important safety-related activities that will be taking place on our campuses this week.

First Responder Familiarization Walk-Throughs

On Tuesday, July 28, 2026 and Wednesday, July 29,2026, beginning at approximately 11:00 a.m. each day, first responders from the Lyons Township Area Communications Center (LTACC) and partner public safety agencies will conduct walk-throughs of South Campus. These visits are intended to familiarize emergency personnel with recent building updates resulting from construction and to ensure they are prepared to respond effectively should an emergency ever occur.

During these walk-throughs, community members may notice a larger-than-usual presence of emergency vehicles and first responders on campus. This activity is planned, routine, and part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe learning environment. There is no emergency or cause for concern.

BluePoint Safety System Testing

On Friday, July 31, 2026, Lyons Township High School will conduct testing of the school's BluePoint System at North Campus beginning at approximately 8:00 a.m.. Testing at South Campus will take place on Monday, August 3, 2026, sometime during the morning.

The BluePoint notification system is designed to notify students and staff in the event of a Violent Critical Incident (VCI) while simultaneously providing an immediate alert to law enforcement to help shorten response times.

During the testing periods, technicians will test the notification pull stations, PA announcements, and strobe lights associated with the system. Prior to testing, announcements will be made over the PA system so that anyone on campus is aware. Portions of the testing may be audible to nearby neighbors, and the blue exterior strobe lights may be visible flashing during the tests.

We are sharing this information to help avoid unnecessary alarm and to keep our community informed. We appreciate your understanding and support as we continue to strengthen our school safety procedures in preparation for the new school year.

Thank you for your continued partnership.
