IMPORTANT NOTICE: Sage 100 Security Updates

Two important technical updates are approaching that will impact Sage 100 customers, not on a recent product release.

Effective October 1, 2022: Microsoft will disable Basic authentication and will require the use of modern authentication (OAuth) for connection to servers, services, and API endpoints, such as Exchange Online and O365 email tenants. This means that in-product email services will stop working on versions of Sage 100 other than 2021.4 or 2022.1

Effective September 2023: Transport Layer Security (TLS) is a third-party component that is widely adopted and designed to facilitate privacy and data security when communicating over the internet. TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 have been formally deprecated by the Internet Engineering Task Force since June 2018.

Sage will no longer support TLS 1.0 and 1.1 after September 2023 and it will be necessary for customers to upgrade to Sage 100 version 2020.1 or higher by end of summer 2023.

If you are running a past version of Sage 100 and will be affected by the changes above, please do not panic. Reach out to your Sage 100 consultant or email us at sagesupport@dwdtechgroup.com.
