Serve. Innovate. Empower.

Focusing on collaborative, value-added services, I commend the consistent quality of enriching support our organization provides to our students, partners, and community. As we celebrate literacy during “March is Reading Month,” I also wish to highlight and acknowledge the following team members and their accomplishments as positive indicators of our collective successes during this past month: Scott Sawyer, Deputy Superintendent, was recognized as the 2021 Michigan School Business Official of the Year; Joshua Hook was hired as our new Assistant Director of Instructional Services; Lisa Coney was featured in an article for the Michigan Banner; Florence Thompson was recognized as our monthly Orange Spot recipient for consistently exhibiting the Happiness Advantage, and; Dr. Ericka Taylor, Executive Director of Early Childhood, and her team partnered with regional leaders to secure a $300,000 MI Tri-Share Child Care Program grant for the Great Lakes Bay Region. I am grateful that our Saginaw ISD remains steadfast to our vision and mission to serve, innovate, and empower, while modeling servant leadership for all stakeholders.

Yours in Education,
Jeffrey Collier, Superintendent
