Dear Sahuaro Residents,

With the New Year comes new opportunities to visit our parks and enjoy recreation around the city.

The city of Glendale has over 70 parks for residents to enjoy year-round. Whether you’re interested in playgrounds for your children, or just sitting outside in nature, Glendale’s parks have many options.

Additionally, the city offers programming at multiple locations around Glendale. You can enjoy recreation programming for all ages at the Foothills Recreation and Aquatics Center, or you can visit one of our many libraries for a wide range of educational and learning opportunities.

The senior center is another great option for those in our community who want to meet new people while being active.

I’d also like to encourage everyone to attend the Founders Day 1892 event this Saturday, January 13th in Downtown Glendale. This is a great opportunity to learn more about our city and enjoy the downtown businesses.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Councilmember Ray Malnar

GETTING AROUND GLENDALE

Do you have extra fruit on your trees and want to help the community? Bring it out to Sahuaro Ranch Park or Manistee Ranch Park between 9 a.m. and noon on Saturday, January 13th. The City of Glendale will take it to St. Mary's Food Bank in honor of the MLK Day of Service. The city has partnered with St. Mary's Food Bank and Hands on Greater Phoenix to donate fruit that volunteers will glean from city trees at the 2 parks. More than 300 volunteers have signed up to help gather the citrus for this annual tradition.
