Dear Sahuaro Residents,

With the weather heating up, many of us will be spending time in or near a pool to stay cool. May is National Water Safety Month, and to highlight this, I’d like to share some safety tips from the American Red Cross.

  • Designate a water watcher every single time children in my care are in or near the water.
  • Make sure my kids know how to swim.
  • As a parent or guardian, learn CPR.
  • Always remove portable pool ladders when not in use.
  • Ensure all permanent pools have a proper fence and gate and safer drain covers.

P.S.

Ballots for the Glendale election, initiated by Worker Power PAC, should have arrived in your mailbox. There are two propositions on the ballot.

This is a mail in only ballot. There are no polling places, but ballots may be dropped off at the Foothills Library, 19055 N 57th Ave, or the Glendale City Clerk office, 5752 W Glenn Dr.

The county recorder recommends mailing ballots by May 13th. The Drop-off ballot deadline is May 20th.

Have a wonderful weekend,
