Let the Cruising Begin!!!
Welcome to Spring, a time of growth and renewal, and perhaps the renewal of the cruise and travel industry. Major developments continue at an almost dizzying pace.
Just last month, the Cruise Line Industry Association (CLIA) announced that since July, 2020, “nearly 350,000 passengers have sailed on modified itineraries in Europe and other parts of the world with enhanced health protocols that are working as intended.” How well are they working? Of those 350,000 passengers, only 50 tested Covid-19 positive resulting in zero deaths and no serious illnesses. The incidence rate equals 0.00014, significantly less than your chances of contracting the virus at the local grocery store. Clearly, all the protocols put in place by the cruise industry are effective. For further safety protocols, initial cruises on all ships will be at 40% capacity moving to 50% in about a month after the initial sailings. At this point, back-to-back reservations are not being permitted, but we expect that to change in coming months.

Major cruise lines are expanding cruises in conjunction with the multiple phases of CDC’s Conditional Sail Order guidelines. Here are just a few examples of cruises available to you right now.

Celebrity: June 19, 2021; 7 Night, Roundtrip Athens on their newest ship, the Apex.

Princess: July 1, 2021; 4 Day, Roundtrip LA (Ensenada).
Princess: July 5, 2021; 5 Day, Roundtrip LA (Cabo San Lucas).

These are but a handful of cruises currently able to be reserved. Further, extremely attractive airfares are available to Athens and St. Maarten.
