March 22, 2024

Greetings,

Happy Friday! It’s hard to believe that we’ve come to the end of another busy school week, and the last full week before the Easter holiday recess. We celebrate Palm Sunday this weekend, which sparks the most holy of holies week for Christians around the world.

As Christians, let us try and reflect on the fact that there is no Easter Sunday without a Good Friday. If you are having a difficult time this year, struggling and/or suffering from one of the many challenges life throws at us along our journey I pray that you rest in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus, who is with you all along the way. I am reminded of the words of Pope St. John Paull II when he said, "Do not abandon yourselves to despair. We are the Easter people and hallelujah is our song."

“O death, where is thy victory? O death, where is thy sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (I Corinthians 15:55-57)

In closing, I encourage you to be present with our Lord in the many opportunities Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church will have during holy week and the Easter Triduum. See the schedule below for details.

Happy Holy Week & Happy Easter! Albeit a little early but rest assured Easter will come! Blessings be upon you and your families for a safe, healthy, and happy Easter, as well as Easter break!

God Bless & Go Sailors!
