Greetings,
Happy Solemnity of All Saints Day! Yesterday we celebrated a wonderful All-Hallow’s Eve at school. The weather cooperated again for us this year, so we were able to have our parade outside. It was nice to see so many parents, grandparents, friends, and family join in the celebration. After the parade the remaining half-day was filled with classroom parties, Saints stories in the gym, spooky science experiments with buddies in the cafeteria, and much more! A big shout out to our teachers who prepared all the festive activities! Thank you to the 8th grade students who read their saint biographies to their fellow students. Also, thank you to all our wonderful volunteers who made the day a special one.
Today, at the conclusion of Mass our students revealed their classroom saint. Each classroom was asked to choose a saint to represent them and their classroom this school year. Each classroom had a student representative (or two) come forward and announce to the congregation whom they chose, why, what their feast day is, and what their saint is the patron of – well done super Star Sailor students!
As you know, the first quarter ended today, which means report cards and parent/teacher conferences are upon us. Remember the report cards will be emailed on Wednesday 11/6. You will also receive a hard copy of your son/daughter STAR beginning of the year assessment report. Please make sure to sign it and have it returned to their teacher. Conferences will follow on Thursday, 11/7. If you haven’t signed up yet, please do so below on the Sign-Up Genius. No school on Friday, 11/8. Also, this week we will be hosting our annual Scholastic Book Fair! Thank you, Mrs. Walter and Mrs. Takach for organizing.
In closing, I pray you have a safe and restful weekend. Go LIONS!
God Bless,
Mr. Barker
