June 5, 2025

As we wrap up another school year, our hearts are full of gratitude. It’s been a truly wonderful year—one filled with learning, laughter, growth, and so many blessings. We’ve watched our students rise to challenges, support one another, and grow not just in knowledge, but in faith and character too.

We’re so proud of all they’ve accomplished and incredibly thankful for the partnership of our families and the dedication of our staff. It’s a gift to be part of a community where Christ is at the center and where we strive each day to help our students become the people God created them to be.

As we look ahead, we’re excited to welcome some great new faces to our team. We have strong candidates for our open positions, and we trust that God will continue to provide the right people to help lead and support our students.

Until then, we wish you a happy, safe, and restful summer. May it be a time of joy, renewal, and plenty of sunshine! We can’t wait to see you back in September, ready for another year of growing, learning, and walking in faith—together.

At the end of the school year, the teachers and staff gather together for time together celebrating the end of another great year. Thanks to our "Grill Masters" for keeping us all fed! (Mr. King, Mr. Novak, Mr. Jake, Mr. Carozza)

Please see the graphic below to know how many hours your child will need to participate in IXL this summer:

Mrs. Flanagan Named Teacher of the Year

Help us give a BIG congratulations to Mrs. Flanagan who won the Excellence in Teaching award from the Archdiocese of Detroit! We are so blessed to have her gifts and expertise here at Star!

Farewell to Some Beloved Teachers

As many of you already know, Mrs. Michielutti has now retired after 12 wonderful years as a teacher—and many more as a devoted parent. Her commitment and love for this community have made a lasting impact. We wish her all the best - she will be greatly missed!

Additionally, after six years of dedicated service, Mrs. Takach is taking a bittersweet step as she and her family return to South Bend, where her husband will be teaching. Affectionately known as “Mrs. T” by the students, she wore many hats. Whether in the cafeteria, library, or the copy room, she was always here—ready to serve.

Please continue to pray for Mrs. M and Mrs. T as they move on from the halls of Star. May they be blessed in all they do!
