Construction Update - Traffic Flow Update During School Day
December 9, 2019

Dear Saint Agnes Parishioners & School Families:

If you are a school family and have not yet read the BEE School Newsletter that explains school carpool sent Friday, December 6th, please click here.

Starting this Tuesday, December 10th, if you come by Saint Agnes you will see some changes in how the parking lot is utilized throughout the week. We wanted to make sure all parishioners were apprised of these changes as we anticipate the beginning of the construction fence being place at the end of this week. As a reminder, below is how our grounds will look during the time of construction (all graphics below can be clicked to view larger resolution version).

Now, let's take a look at how the school will now utilize the parking lot Monday through Friday while school is in session.
Please note, beginning around 7:15 a.m. and lasting until around 1:45 p.m., we are asking everyone to please use the southernmost entrance (located closest to church) to come onto the parking lot. The arrows show how the flow of traffic that school families will use from 7:15 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. in dropping off their children for school. If you are leaving campus from the 7:00 a.m. liturgy, or for other business with the parish, you are fine to utilize this entrance to leave as well. Only school families are being asked to use the entrance closest to school as an exit as a part of drop-off.
In the graphic above, you will see how the lot will be used during the school day. If you are coming to a liturgy, or coming to visit the Parish Office, we ask that you begin with using the first set of double parking spaces closest to the church. The next set of double parking spaces can be used as overflow. Additionally, there is to be no parking during the school day against the grass island, or in the spots closest to the school. This is due to the relocation of the recess area for students, and to make sure no cars are in the way for afternoon carpool. Exceptions will be made on parent/grandparent lunch days and funerals when needed.
Finally, above you will see the traffic flow plan for families picking up their students from school. If you are coming on campus between 2:45 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., please be prepared for the potential of increased congestion within the lot. During this time, the entrance closest to church will be an exit only with two lane traffic leaving the parking lot. If you need to get on campus to visit the parish office, please enter through the entrance closest to the school, take an immediate left going beneath the grassy island, and find parking in the first two sets of double parking spaces.

We do ask for your patience during these morning and afternoon times while school is in session. We are fortunate that we are able to contain most of the traffic on site without creating more disruption on Newburg Road. If you have any additional questions about this process, feel free to contact me at wousley@stagneslouisville.org or by calling the Parish Office during the work week.

Thanks, and we will be in touch with more details soon.
