Safety and Health Reminders – Midyear Update
Dear Families,
As we have crossed the halfway point of the school year, I would like to share some important safety and health reminders.
The school day begins promptly at 7:45 a.m. Students are expected to be in the building and ready for the day at the 7:45 bell. We recognize that there are days when road conditions may cause delays, and we are understanding with issuing tardies on those occasions. However, over the past week, many students have been arriving after the 7:45 bell. We should not see a line of cars extending into the church lot at that time. It is in your child’s best interest to arrive at school on time.
To help keep traffic moving efficiently, it is imperative that when the drop-off line moves forward, the first car pulls up beyond the doors before allowing students to exit the vehicle. Please follow this directive so that traffic continues to move and students can enter the building before the 7:45 bell.
As has been stated many times, there is absolutely no drop-off permitted on Stillman Road. We continue to see parents stopping on Stillman Road and students exiting vehicles. This must stop. For the safety of all—most importantly, your children—you must use the designated drop-off line.
We understand that last-minute changes may occur near dismissal time. Any dismissal change must be called into the office by 2:00 p.m. Although dismissal is at 2:30 p.m., we begin making announcements before the bell so students know where to go, and teachers can ensure they are dismissed correctly.
If you come to the school for any reason between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., you must be buzzed in at the Stillman Road doors. We will no longer buzz parents or guardians in through the parking lot doors during this time.
Illness Reminder:
Your child must be fever-, vomit-, and diarrhea-free for 24 hours before returning to school. This guideline must be followed to prevent the spread of illness.
Thank you for your cooperation and continued support in keeping our students safe and healthy.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Yakawiak
