Greetings of peace.

Tomorrow we celebrate the Feast of St. Anthony of Padua. It will be a different celebration this year, but nonetheless a joyful one. Our Guardian, Fr. Frank Sevola, O.F.M., is the presider of the Boston Catholic TV Mass at 9:30 a.m. I will preside at our live streaming Mass tomorrow at noon. Please plan to join us. Br. John Maganzini, O.F.M., composed a special feast day prayer for you.

As you know, we opened Ash Wednesday, Feb.18, 1947. The friars decided to name the Shrine in honor of St. Anthony of Padua , who had just been named a Doctor of the Church . For 73 years we have provided spiritual nourishment to the people of Boston and beyond. Ever evolving and changing to meet the needs of our neighbors, our outreach programs have multiplied through the years.

Last week I invited you to help us raise $100,000 by the end of June. I am very happy to report that we have raised $33,000 so far. We need you now more than ever. Our friends from Cantina helped us create this message :
We are grateful that a generous donor has offered to match up to $25,000 of money that we are able to raise this weekend. Ambitious? Yes. Realistic? With your help, absolutely. Whatever you give this weekend, it will be matched.
St. Anthony is revered for his kindness and compassion. Let us pray that he will work small miracles in each of our hearts … that we might carry Christ’s love into the world.

With humble gratitude, I am
Sincerely yours in St. Francis,
