This evening's speaker is  Kendall Mazurek who will speak of letting go of holding on, the story of death and resurrection through the illness and healing of their son, Penn.

Dinner served from 5:30-6:15.  Program from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Children's program will run concurrently.

Buñuelos are a San Antonio tradition. These thin and crispy rosette buñuelos are sure to please! They are deep fried, and dusted with cinnamon & sugar. You can share them, serve them with a cup of coffee, crumble over vanilla ice cream or they can be served as the star alone!

The Lenten Bread Sales is an outreach program aimed at providing healthy food for the children who participate in the activities at the Good Samaritan Community Services on Saltillo Street on San Antonio's west side. St. David's bakers provide breads, biscuits, muffins, and other healthy baked goods for sale after the 8:00 and 10:30 Sunday services during Lent. On Easter Sunday, cookies, pies and cakes are welcomed.

Moms' Bible Study has started back up on Wednesday mornings at 8:45 a.m. in the Youth Loft.  We are reading  "Present over Perfect" by Shauna Niequist.  Please contact Sarah Kates at sarah.kates@att.net for more information. Hope to see you there!

Duncan Park, our Diocesan Camp in Colorado, is holding a spot on the calendar for a retreat  for  our congregation and friends this July 30th-August 4th (please note: this year's  trip is Sunday-Friday)! It is a beautiful camp and offers a wide range of opportunities. You can relax by the fire, take a leisurely stroll on a trail, take a hike as challenging as you like, shop in nearby towns, or take advantage of some of the local tours.

EDUCATION FOR MINISTRY (EfM)
The Education for Ministry (EfM) program is a four-year study and group reflection process for the formation of Christian ministry through the development of knowledge, attitude, skill and identity as Christians from the . Published texts, which are provided to you along with the Reading and Reflection Guide, contain the primary knowledge content. Participants commit to one year at a time. Our EfM class meets weekly on Monday evenings at St. David's for approximately three hours, 6PM - 9PM. Your application and one year's tuition of $350.00 are due to her no later than April 28, 2017.
 
The first year centers on the Hebrew Scriptures-Old Testament

The second year offers a study of the New Testament.

Theology and ethics constitute study in the fourth year.

St. David's Men's Bible Study Group Lenten Series will meet again on Monday, April 10th in the Mission Room at Bishop Jones Center.  Social at 5:30, dinner at 6:00, and program at 6:30.  We will have a discussion led by John Brooke on presentation given by Prof. Daniel Joslyn-Siemiatkoski from Seminary of the Southwest on 2 Maccabees from the Apocrypha.

New Beginnings #3, led by Mary Hayden Manning and Olivia Ribble, will take place Friday-Sunday, April 21st-23rd, at Resurrection, San Antonio.  This is a spiritual renewal weekend for all middle school youth 6th-8th grade, even those who participated in previous New Beginnings retreats.  High school students can apply to be on staff .  The Rev. Jim Kee-Rees will serve as the Spiritual Director. Participants register online here . Cost per participant and per staff member is $50; scholarships are available. The Spring Women's Gathering will be held at Camp Capers
Friday-Sunday, April 28th-30th. The theme this year is "Holy Companions - a shared journey of faith." The foundation for friendship is the act of God. Hearing and honoring one another's stories can be a sacramental act, one that manifests the presence of God. Retreat leaders Carla Pineda and Patty Brooke will guide participants on an exploration of personal spiritual journeys, as those of some biblical women, to expand and deepen the "soul friendships" that nurture our community of faith. At the 113th annual Diocesan Council, the Habitat Builders for West Texas announced an upcoming diocesan-wide Habitat for Humanity build in San Antonio, which will be dedicated in thanksgiving for the ministry of Bishop Gary Lillibridge. Cursillo #275 will be held at Mustang Island Conference Center Thursday-Sunday, May 4th-7th. Cursillo is a three-day spiritual retreat for adults that provides the tools and "rules of life" to enthusiastically share the joys of knowing Christ with others.
