Rector's Ramblings
Winning
Last night, along with Chuck Firmin, I had the honor of representing our church at the "Inaugural Texarkana Historic Preservation Awards". The award reception was held at the Palm Room in the Grim Hotel building and sponsored by the Historic Landmark Preservation Commission of Texarkana, TX and the Historic District Commission of Texarkana, AR.
It is with pleasure that I am able to announce that St. James Church was the first recipient of the Sacred Places Preservation Award. We were specially commended for all the work that has been done over the past few years to ensure that St. James continues to represent our city and our faith in Downtown Texarkana.
I wish to thank all of you, our Wardens, Vestry, and the Santiago Foundation for the faithful support that made the work of preserving our campus possible, and ensuring that we at St. James remain a vibrant presence in Texarkana. It is gratifying to me, to see that your efforts, have been noted, and celebrated, by our community.
May God bless you in this Easter Season,
Dave+
