Dear Saint Jeanne's Families,
Wow! Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac School was bustling with activity this past week! Thanks to Mrs. Meyers and Mrs. Mistica, our Red Ribbon Week was filled with many educational opportunities for our students to learn, and reflect on the importance of making healthy choices in life. The highlights of the week included; an outstanding presentation by our Campus Minister, Mr. Nguyen, for grades K-8, a visit from DEA agent, Mr. Zepeda and his drug-sniffing dog for grades PS-5, as well as a drug-related presentation by CHP officer, Mr. Tim Fenton for our 8th grade students preparing for high school. Not only did our students learn a great deal about making healthy choices, they learned about the gift of God's special plan for each of them.
We hope that you had wonderful Parent/Teacher Conferences these past few days. As you must know, the partnership of parents is priceless! We truly believe that the partnerships of teachers and parents for a more personalized education, is a definite strength of Saint Jeanne's which will now expand to our high school!
This week we have our All Saints Day Mass at 8:30 am and all are invited to attend! Please join us. Also, remember that we had a shift in our schedule for this Friday. This Friday, November 4th, will be a 12:00 dismissal day! The faculty and staff will be receiving special training in an effort to keep your children safe in dangerous lock-down situations.
Once again, if you did not attend our high school informational evening, you still have the opportunity! We will host additional informational meetings on the evenings of November 9th and November 14th. Please see the Distinctive Characteristics listed in the newsletter for a glimpse of the unique programs available!
