SJS Field Hockey: Undefeated Season!

Our Saint Joe’s Field Hockey team is on fire this season with an impressive undefeated record of 6-0! Don’t miss their last game on Monday, November 4, at 3:45pm, as they face off against St. Columbkille’s at 10 Nonantum Road in Newton (turf field).

The team was thrilled by the enthusiastic support from the student section at their last game against Ursuline—it made a huge impact and created a memorable experience for all! Let’s show up again to cheer them on as they cap off this incredible season. With their skills and energy, it’s sure to be an exciting afternoon.

Halloween Candy Drive

Continuing through this Wednesday, November 6, we will be collecting extra/leftover Halloween candy. Students can drop off candy in bins located in the main lobbies of the Early Childhood School, Lower School, and Upper School. The donated treats will be used to create care packages for local organizations and our troops.  If you have an organization that is looking for candy donations, please let us know.

Veterans Day at SJS

In celebration of Veterans Day and to recognize those who have served in the U.S. armed forces, we are once again creating a "Hallway of Heroes." Our goal is to fill the walls near the main office with tributes to our American heroes. Students are encouraged to complete the linked Veterans Day template and submit it by Monday, November 4. Additional templates are available in the main office.

Carline Reminders

When picking up students from after-school clubs and activities (outside of the 2:40pm dismissal carline), please remember to leave the center lanes open so cars that are ready to leave can pull out easily. Cars may line up in lanes 1, 3, and 5, while lanes 2 and 4 should remain open for exiting vehicles.

Additionally, for the safety and smooth flow of pick-up, children should remain in the car while waiting for siblings or friends in after-school activities. Only students enrolled in aftercare are permitted on the playground or in that area after school. The aftercare staff are focused on checking students in and out and cannot monitor children moving between the playground and cars. Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring a safe and orderly pick-up process!

Thanksgiving Food Drive

We are pleased to once again partner with the Needham Community Council and the Needham Food Pantry for our Thanksgiving Food Drive. This year, we are asking each student to contribute one or two boxes of cereal, a much-needed item. The Food Pantry recommends choosing any brand your family enjoys. Please bring in your donations Monday, November 18th and Tuesday, November 19th. Thank you for your continued support!
