The 2024 Groovy Run is THIS WEEK!
The run will take place on this Thursday 10/17 for Little Sharks, Preschool, PreK, and Grades 5, 6, & 7 and this Friday 10/18 for Kindergarten, and Grades 1, 2, 3, 4, & 8.
Last year the Fun Run raised over $70,000 for our school - with your help we can exceed that this year! Students simply register at boosterthon.com and get pledges from family and friends.
Homerooms that have 100% of students registered (regardless of pledges) will earn a dress down Tag Day! And the top 3 homerooms will earn a special treat!!

Join Us for the 2024 Blue Ribbon Family Celebration!
Celebrate our Blue Ribbon Award in style at our “Under the Blue Ribbon Big Top” family event THIS FRIDAY 10/18 from 5-7pm in the school parking lot! This circus-themed evening is packed with fun for all ages, with blue cotton candy, popcorn, Richie’s Slush, music, and special entertainment, including a DJ, face painting, balloon artistry, a 6pm magic show, and a meet-and-greet with Bluey at 5:30pm!
Dress in Blue to help us honor this achievement in true Saint Joe’s style! We’d love volunteer support from our parent community. If you can assist with activities, food, or setup/cleanup, please email Tori Banu at tbanu@sjs-needham.org.

Upper School Rise Night: For Current Grade 4 & 5 Families
Current SJS Grade 4 and 5 parent and guardians are invited to join us for Upper School Rise Night! This special event offers a preview of our Upper School program, specifically grades 5 and 6, and showcases how we prepare students for their next steps in education. Progress Reports and MAP Test Scores
Progress reports for Term I will be available this Friday, October 18th.
- Grade 2: Reports will be sent home with students.
- Grades 3-5: Reports will be available online through the RenWeb portal.
- Grades 6-8: The gradebook is always open and accessible for viewing in the RenWeb portal.
Additionally, MAP test scores for all students in Kindergarten-Grade 8 will be sent home on Friday—please check your student's backpack!

A not-so-spooky craft event for our littlest ghosts and goblins in the ECB!

Trick-or-treating, a corn maze, popcorn, and dancing!

Counselor's Corner: October is National Bullying Prevention Month!
Join us in celebrating Unity Day this Wednesday, October 16th as we build commUNITY through kindness, acceptance, and inclusion to prevent bullying. Students are encouraged to wear orange flair or accessories with their school uniforms—think bracelets, jewelry, hair bows, socks, belts, and more—to show their support! Let's unite in kindness and take a stand against bullying.

The beloved 2nd Grade Saints Parade is just around the corner, taking place on November 1st to celebrate All Saints Day. If your family has any saint costumes from previous years that you'd like to donate, please send them to the main office with your student. Your generosity helps continue this cherished tradition!

PSA Annual Street Hockey Tournament – A Night to Remember!
What an incredible night we had at the Annual Street Hockey Tournament! The weather was perfect, and the competition was fierce as always. Congratulations to all the participants who played on Friday!
Grades K-1 Bracket:
Coached by middle schoolers Ben C, Jack S, Caden C, and Connor M, the Red team held off the Blue team in the final to take home the win! Congrats to: Tyler M, Abigail B, Chase O, Peter C, Theia G, Brayden M, Luke P.
Grades 2-4 Bracket:
As the sun set, the competition heated up! Coached by Annie M, Maggie M, and Danielle C, the Blue team proved unstoppable, running away with the game. Congrats to: Grace M, Taylor P, Grady L, Billy S, Charlie S, Morgan M, Maisie M, Winston C, Chase G.
Grades 5-7 Bracket:
Under the bright lights of the St. Joe’s street hockey stadium, the Red team, coached by Michael S and Andrew C, battled hard and held off Stevie F’s sharp shots for a thrilling 10-9 victory! Congrats to: Jimmy S, Patrick J, Andrew S, Maggie M, Danielle C, Annie M, George S, Hunter H, Leo W.
