Birthday Book Donation Program: Summer

Thank you to our additional Summer Birthday Book Donation Program participants:

Caroline Cullinan, Ronan Flynn, Bobby Flynn, Jack Pentore, Luke Pentore, Charlize Sexton, and Landon Vacanti

We are grateful to the many families who have contributed to this worthwhile initiative this year - together we raised over $1,400 for our school library!

School Garden

Thank you to our volunteers this spring who helped plant the school garden (located adjacent to the Elementary School play structure)! We are growing a lot of wonderful veggies and (eventually) flowers. The garden has different labeled sections including lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, beans, cucumbers, broccoli! This garden is meant to be enjoyed by all within the Saint Joe’s communities – our students, our families, and our staff.

Each of these veggies will be ready throughout the summer at different times – the bottom leaves of lettuce can be picked now, while the beans, cucumbers, and tomatoes will start to be ready late July into August. Please feel free to pick things from the garden when they are ready! Be gentle when picking the beans and cucumbers, as you don’t want to damage the vine that they are growing on. Lettuce you pick the bottom leaves off the main stem so it can continue growing up and putting off more leaves (and feel free to pull the weeds too!). Happy growing and eating!
