COVID-19 Task Force update May 7
The Task Force continues to meet virtually each week while monitoring any updates from public health and government sources.
  • Governor Hogan has recently published a "Maryland Strong Roadmap to Recovery" plan ( which outlines specific, staged reopening guidance based on risk, in three stages, with a 2-3 week interval between each stage to evaluate the effects on daily case count, hospitalization, and deaths before opening the next stage.
  • The Task Force will continue to consider the State and Federal guidelines, consult with the Pastors, and prayerfully discern our response to the reopening stages as it relates to Saint Mark operations. However, our main concern is the safety and health of our members and we will only make recommendations to Session about our own gradual reopening when we believe it is in the best interest of all our congregants.
  • In preparation for returning to our facilities, we will be ordering disposable face masks and hand sanitizer stations to be placed in the sanctuary and education building, as we anticipate physical distance, face masks and sanitization of surfaces will continue to be advised.
  • As mentioned before, if you have any special needs, please reach out to your deacon (PDF attached) or one of the pastors (via email).

Pastor Shelby will be off this weekend and will return to her "virtual office" on Monday.
We aren't going anywhere, just taking a few days for family time!

In our prayers this week:
~ Battokok and Julienne Bityeki and their family. Battokok is in the ICU with COVID-19 and Julienne is recovering at      home.
~ For all of our friends and  family working in the health care industry and those who
are essential personnel, working hard to keep us healthy, safe and fed at their own  risk.
