MAY CROWNING

Above: Our Little Saints had their own May Crowning, teaching them very special lessons about the Blessed Mother. Below: Today, our elementary school students participated in the school wide May Crowning, a longstanding Catholic tradition honoring the Virgin Mary.

Principal's Message

The month of May, for Catholics everywhere, is considered the "month of Mary." Each year, Saint Mary student celebrate Mary's month bringing flowers of the fairest to crown the Queen of the Angels.

Today, our entire school participated in our own ceremony, crowning the lovely indoor statue of the Blessed Mother at Mary Mother of God Church and stopping by our outdoor grotto dedicated to Mary for prayer.

It was a gorgeous day. Father Jeff blessed the crown of roses and the children who made their First Communion this year sang a beautiful song. We had numerous families join us at Mass. I love seeing our community come together for this joyous occasion.

Although we are closing in on our last few weeks of school, there are still many events to enjoy. From attending Peter Pan, Jr. to volunteering for activity day, you don't want to miss them. I also want to wish all of our Marathon Kids good luck on Saturday. Do your personal best!

God bless,

Craig Palmer

I have been truly blessed to be teaching for more than 25 years, spending the last 14 at Saint Mary School. My husband and I have three children. All have gone through Saint Mary School. They are thriving in their own lives, with my youngest still at Red Bank Catholic. The community here is like no other. The parents are huge supporters of the work we do inside and outside the classroom. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. I fell in love with the IMES Orton Gillingham method and became certified. I teach our youngest learners basic and comprehensive reading methods. I even implemented my own writing program, Writer's Toolbox, for grade 3-5. The spiritual foundation here is what sparks success and character.”

NEW LIBRARY

There is still time to give to Saint John Paul II Classical Library opening at Saint Mary School in September 2023. Every book will be carefully chosen to include timeless children's classics and modern literature. The library's shelves will be filled with exciting books based on Catholic virtues and morals that teach, as well as entertain.

With a contribution to the Saint John Paul II Classical Library you can help construct, furnish, and maintain the library. Any donation, large or small, would be greatly appreciated. With your $40 donation to our book collection, we will select a book and inscribe it in honor of your loved one (living or deceased). Make your donations here: https://stmaryes.org/classicallibrary
