A HOLY DAY OF PRAYER AND FASTING
Saint Mary Pastor, Fr. Jeffrey Kegley, brought our community together on Ash Wednesday. It marked the first day of Lent, the six weeks of penitence before Easter. We were blessed to share this holy day with so many families.
"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free..."
This week Memorial Hall transformed into Ellis Island and 3rd grade transformed into generations of immigrants who journeyed through Ellis Island. What an unforgettable lesson for our students.

IT'S A NUMBER GAME
Last week our Saint Mary Math team took part in another round of competition hosted by Christian Brothers Academy (CBA). This one was special because Ryan Manely '19, a current senior at CBA was their moderator. Ryan was also taught by Patrick Melosh, Math team coach and middle school Math teacher.

PRINTMAKING ART
Our 6th graders had an introduction to printmaking, using block impression plates. They learned about Pop Artist, Andy Warhol and studied his endangered species series of prints. The students chose an endangered animal and created three separate final prints. "My absolute favorite part was how much they really loved it and how engrossed they were with making prints. Seeing their faces as they peel the paper away from their block was priceless. The students did such a great job, worked hard, and were inventive in their ideas. I was very proud of them!" said Art Teacher Michelle Laneve.

Scrip is now RaiseRight. For those who are not aware, Scrip is now called RaiseRight. Below are a few videos that explain how the program works and how Saint Mary School benefits. There's no selling, no extra time, and no extra money. Just purchase gift cards to pay for everyday (and not-so-everyday) expenses. The Amazon Smile program has been discontinued for all companies. Scrip is another great way to donate to the school.
