"The Way of Jesus"
Sunday Sermon

Jesus has called the disciples, now he begins to instruct them on what it means to follow him. In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus first words are the beatitudes which show us that the way of Jesus turns the world upside down. Join us as Pastor Tim continues our Epiphany sermon series and launches a four week exploration of the Sermon on the Mount.

Online Giving

There are multiple ways for you to give at Saint Matthew. Each method allows for God’s work to be done as you are faithful to God’s calling to the spiritual discipline of giving financially.

Online giving is a safe and easy way to support the ministry of Saint Matthew. This system enables you to support the church by establishing a recurring contribution through your bank account. “Simply Giving” forms are available in the church office and by link here. You can also give online using your credit card or bank account here.

If you would like to make a financial commitment through a pledge to Saint Matthew, please print and fill out a 2020 Pledge Form and return it to the offering plate, or fill it out online here.
Saint Matthew is Hiring

We are hiring part time nursery staff! We are looking for anyone who has a heart for our littlest followers of Jesus to work on a rotating basis to help us keep the nursery appropriately staffed. Nursery is open during both worship services on Sundays, and for occasional special events. Teens are welcome to apply and must provide a valid work permit if hired.

Applicants should send their resume to jobs@saintmatthew.org.
A Special Message from Bishop Mark Holmerud
Did you know that for the past several years, the bishops who serve the synod where each team playing in the Super Bowl is from challenge each other and their synods to tackle hunger by supporting ELCA World Hunger? Thanks to the 49ers DRUBBING of the Green Bay Packers last week, we are one of two synods left with a team in the Super Bowl! So now IT’S ON – Bp. Susan Candea of the Central States Synod and I are issuing a donation challenge to our synods!

The way it works is this -- our partners at ELCA World Hunger have created a crowdfunding platform where we can “pass the plate” for ELCA World Hunger. As we in the Sierra Pacific Synod are rooting for the 49ers, so our siblings in Christ in the Central States Synod will be rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs! We have the chance to make donations to indicate our support of the 49ers, just as the people of the congregations of the Central States Synod will have the chance to make donations in support of the Chiefs!

And while we are making these donations and cheering for our team, our main goal is that all may be fed. Debbi and I have already donated for the San Francisco 49ers – so join us in helping ELCA World Hunger in its work and witness! Please click on the link, below, to show your support for ELCA World Hunger (and for the San Francisco 49ers)!

Thanks,
Bp. Mark
