"For Whom Do We Live?"
Sunday Sermon

Join us this Sunday as we explore Luke 12:13-21. Jesus warns of the danger of greed and tells a parable about a rich farmer who he calls a fool, not because he is wealthy or because he saves for the future, but because he appears to live only for himself, and because he believes that he can secure his life with his abundant possessions. We do not live for ourselves alone and our security is not based solely on what we possess, but how we live our lives -- with plenty or with little -- for the One who created and redeemed us .

Luke 12:13-21 | Worship: 9:00 & 10:30 am
We hope to see you at this week's Summer Bible Study & Potluck this Sunday, August 4th from 5:00-7:00 pm in the Teen Center! Daycare will be provided and the kiddos will have a fun-filled splash night (have them wear their swimsuit under their clothes and bring a towel). Last names (A-M), bring a salad or side dish, last names (N-Z) bring dessert or fruit.

Be a Part of the Movement ~ Transforming Teens' Lives
This fall we are bringing Cursillo back to Saint Matthew for our Teen Ministry program, and we are calling it The Movement. This weekend retreat will take place November 8th-10th at Saint Matthew and is designed to help students find who they are and whose they are in Christ. During this dynamic few days, students will untether from technology and time in order to experience Christ in a new and deeper way.

For this to be a possibility, we are looking for volunteers that can fit some of our specific roles. We are looking for Small Group Leaders, Kitchen Help, Encouragement Team, Clean Up Team, Prayer Partners, Craft Team, and Building Team. If you are interested in being a part of any of these teams please reach out to Amanda Hall or Mike Basil for more information. We would love for you to be part of this life-changing weekend and we need your help in making this happen.

Human Trafficking: What you should know! What you can do!
It is often hard to believe that this happens in our own backyards but unfortunately it does. In fact, the problem is growing and is becoming a lot more in the public eye. ARM of Care was born in 2012 out of the need to address the growing issue of Human Trafficking in Northern California. This organization specializes in using the Creative Arts for trauma care. The goal is to provide consistent care, creating and holding space for those served to learn about themselves, which allows for healing and hope.

ARM of Care's annual fundraiser is Sunday, September 8th at 4:30 pm in the Chateau Room at the Pleasant Hill Senior Center. Buy tickets to this event and support this wonderful organization while learning more about Human Trafficking and hearing a survivor's personal story. Donate to ARM of Care directly or make a donation for the event auction. Contact Angie Kavert at for more information.
