"Kingdom Surprises"
Sunday Sermon

It is interesting that the first miracle of the New Testament era did not occur in one of the traditional holy places like the temple, or even in a synagogue. Rather, it happened at a week-long wedding celebration with singing, dancing, and drinking at a home in a small town. Jesus changed 150 gallons of water used for washing hands into 150 gallons of the finest wine and most of the guests had no idea of what had just happened. Why? This Sunday, Pastor Andy will share insights in his message, "Kingdom Surprises" of why Jesus would choose this "sign" as his initial miracle.

John 2:1-11
Worship: 9:00 & 10:30 am
Chili Cook-off | Register Now Here
Wednesday, January 23rd | 6:00-7:30 pm
This week is the Chili Cook-off so make sure you are signed up to attend! This is a family-friendly, community outreach event. Feel free to pass this invitation on and invite friends to this casual evening of fun and yummy, comfort food. Pastor Tim and Teen Ministry Associate Amanda Diehl will be making vegetarian chilies, and Care Ministries Coordinator Tami Gomez will be defending her title as #1 chilimaster. We are asking everyone to sign up here by Monday to bring a chili topping or side to share. We will also have a lighthearted competition with prizes for those that want to participate in the actual chili cook-off.

Worship Arts Director Search Update (1/16/19)

Our worship arts director search team continues its work, having met nearly 20 times since the team formed at the end of last July (we have been meeting every week, with time off only between Christmas and the New Year). The team has reviewed more than 45 submissions, has conducted at least eight telephone interviews, and has conducted two in person interviews.

As part of our interview process, the team invited a select group of past and former worship arts participants, Council members, and other partners in mission to a time of worship last Sunday afternoon with a promising candidate. This session provided the search team a venue for committee members to assess the candidate in a setting beyond oral or telephonic interviews. The team appreciates the time invitees provided to assist in vetting this candidate.

The committee approaches the stage where it may propose a candidate to the Church Council for final decision. Our committee of Pastor Andy, Kim Niebuhr, Donna Noonan, Rob Pattison, Shahien Shahkar, Heather Salter, and Jan Selby appreciates your on-going prayers for wisdom, insight, and the Lord's leading as its work continues.
