"Living Pentecost"
Sunday Sermon

Join us on Sunday as we hear the Pentecost story from Acts 2:1-21 and then are given the opportunity to respond to ongoing work of the Spirit's work in our lives. There will be opportunities for prayer, baptism, affirmation of baptism, worship and praise -- it promises to be a uniquely engaging experience!

We are inviting all of our school aged children to stay with us in worship on Sunday so that they can be part of the Pentecost experience. For the younger ones or, if our families choose for their older kids at some point in the service, Tanya will have engaging activities for kids of all ages in the nursery.

Acts 2:1-21
Worship: 9:00 & 10:30 am
A Message from Pastor Andy

Lynne and I want to thank the entire Saint Matthew community for your prayers and support during my time away on medical disability leave. On T uesday, June 4th, I underwent my final surgery and am pleased to share with you that it was extremely successful. My surgeon and team of physicians are all confident in a full and healthy recovery for me. I am deeply grateful to the Lord for my renewed health. I look forward to being back at Saint Matthew the first week in July.
Summer Day Camp Volunteers Needed
July 8th - 12th | 9:00 am to Noon

We are super excited about summer day camp, and have some great opportunities to get involved. Here are some of the opportunities we need filled in order to make this a Saint Matthew community success:

LEADER/SHEPHERD:
The kids will be divided into smaller groups (about 5-10 per group) and they will need a lead person with them who will run the small group lesson and craft. We would prefer to have the leaders commit to being at the camp all five days so that the kids have consistency of a person. The leader will be staying with their group of kids from 9:00 am to noon. Would you be willing to be a leader of a small group? If so, what age group is your preference (i.e., preschool, kindergarten, 1st-2nd graders, or 3rd-5th grade)?

SMALL GROUP HELPER:
We also need small group helpers with the small groups as well. Their role will be to help with the crafts and games and help kids make it to the bathroom and back without getting lost. Each small group will need 1-3 helpers, but a helper does not have to commit to all five days from 9:00 am to noon. If you can be a helper, please let us know what days and times you are available.

SET UP/CLEAN UP:
We will also need help with set up and clean up for anyone that might want to help on any of the days, or even set up the Sunday before camp, and clean up on Friday after the camp is over.

FACE PAINTING AND CARNIVAL GAMES:
On Friday, July 12th, we will be setting up carnival games, having ice cream sundaes and face painting, which we will need extra help with as well.

If you would like to be involved, please email or call Tanya Nemcik.

Minnesota Ecumenical HS Troupe on Tour with Original Musical | Free!
Tuesday, June 18th | 7:00 pm | Worship Center

NEW WINE, an interfaith music and drama troupe of high school students will be performing their original musical, THE ARK, at Saint Matthew on Tuesday, June 18th. Comprised of 40 students representing several schools and denominations, New Wine is based out of Living Waters Lutheran Church in Sauk Rapids, MN.

Using comedy, drama, and a creative musical score, THE ARK follows a group of animals on board a great ship, facing the challenges of what it is to live together in community. With a message of reconciliation and trust in "whoever is upstairs driving this boat," THE ARK weaves the good
news of God's saving love and sacrifice into an age-old story, entertaining and inspiring young and old. Their performance is free and open to the public!

Meals on Wheels
Once a Month Drivers Needed!

We are desperate for more drivers for Meals on Wheels as a few regulars have had to drop out recently. The Saint Matthew team has taken the Friday morning route in Bay Point. It  requires driving only one Friday a month. One driver can do it, but a team of two is the ideal situation. This is a rewarding area of Mission Beyond Saint Matthew service! Most of the people served are seniors; many of whom live alone. It is a joy to bring a smile and warm meal to these friends of Saint Matthew who are house bound!

If you are interested, please contact Lin or Dennis Ashlock.
