"Turning Home  
Palm Sunday Sermon
 
Join us this Palm Sunday as we celebrate Jesus' entry into Jerusalem and the beginning of Holy Week. This Sunday we will be taking a look at a small portion of text that is normally passed over when we talk about the Triumphal entry and Jesus' final days. Meet Jesus and Peter at the Last Supper and understand what Turning Home means.

Holy Saturday Prayer Vigil
We Still Have Some Spaces Available!
Saturday, April 20th | 6:00 am-6:00 pm 
 
  Partners in Mission and friends of Saint Matthew are invited to sign up to pray for 30 minute time slots so that we can be in continuous prayer for 12 hours for the future that God has in store for Saint Matthew.

    Worship at 9:00 am and 10:30 am
Maundy Thursday, April 18th at 7:30 pm 
Good Friday, April 19th at 7:30 pm
Holy Saturday Prayer Vigil, April 20th from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm 
 
Easter Sunday, April 21st
    Worship at 9:00 am and 10:30 am
    Continental Breakfast 10:00-11:00 am 
    Kids Easter Treasure Hunt 10:00-11:00 am
White Rose on the Altar & Memorial 
 
A white rose will be placed on the altar to honor the life of David Cunnyngham, beloved brother of Anne Russell, who died on April 4th. Anne would like her church family to know there will be a viewing in the Redwood Chapel at Oakmont Memorial Park in Lafayette on Saturday, April 13th from 12:30-1:30 pm followed by a graveside service at 2:00 pm. 
 
The memorial service for Jim Lape will be on Tuesday, April 16th at 3:00 pm in the Worship Center with a reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall.   
Kids' Easter Treasure Hunt  
Easter Sunday | April 21st | 10:00-11:00 am  
Easter Candy Donations Wanted   
Drop off in the Baskets in the Lobby  
 
SPARK Children's Ministry is collecting Easter chocolate and candy for the upcoming Easter Treasure Hunt. Items must be wrapped and able to fit into a plastic Easter egg. Please do not donate plastic eggs. We have plenty! Please drop off in the baskets in the lobby. If you would like to volunteer at the Treasure Hunt, please contact Tanya Nemcik

Tuesday Service Group Recognition 
 
Our wonderful Tuesday Service Group (aka, The Grandmothers' Group) recently received recognition for their faithful service to YEAH! YEAH's mission is to support young adults (18-24) in Berkeley who are currently homeless. If you are interested in being a part of this worthwhile ministry, please contact Barbara Groenveld or Cheryl Jennings  
Scholarships Available
Applications Due April 28th
 
The Saint Matthew Foundation has scholarships available for those who plan on attending college, a vocational institute, or a Christian leadership program in the fall of 2019. Applications are online only and the deadline to submit them is April 28th.

Prayer Line 
 
Are you interested in joining a team of people receiving prayer requests who pray for the people and friends of our community? Praying can be done on your own and in a way in which is most comfortable for you. Please contact Tami Gomez to be added to the Prayer Line.
 
Anyone from the congregation is welcome to send prayer requests to the team of "pray-ers," who are asked to keep the requests confidential. Please send prayer requests and prayer or praise updates to   [email protected]  at any time.

Saint Matthew Family Camp

We're going to the Coloma Resort for a fabulous time of rafting on the river, swimming, balancing on the ropes course, climbing the rock wall, playing on the playground, etc. There are different ways to camp, including tenting, RVing or sleeping in a cabin. Contact Tom Aragon to find out more information about pricing and accommodations. Deadline to sign up at the Welcome Center is May 10th.
