Principal's Notes
Dear Parents and Families,

A huge thank you to Ms. McAuliffe for organizing our assembly and presentation from Mr. Peace last week! He was fun, engaging, educational, and spiritual. Our students heard stories on how to treat one another, looking for a person's heart first, and making peace. A video from Mr. Peace is below summarizing his trip with us. We are Peacemakers!

Below are some quick notes for the upcoming week:
  • Friday, 4/5: 2:30 Stations of the Cross
  • Saturday, 4/13: Diocesan Science Fair
  • Thursday, 4/18: Third Trimester Interims
  • Thursday, 4/18: Holy Thursday, 11:30 Dismissal
  • Friday, 4/19 - Sunday, 4/28: No School, Easter Break
  • Friday, 5/10: 11:30 Dismissal (Professional Development)
  • May 6 - 24: Scantron Testing

Do you follow St. Michael School on Twitter? @stmikes22003 went a bit viral with our dancing principal and students while we donated money to O'Connell for their Super Dance 2019 to raise money for
cystic fibrosis research. A link to the video can be found by clicking this text.

Come join the St. Michael CYO track team!
All students in grades 3rd-8th are encouraged to join. Practices begin April 2nd at the Annandale High School track. More details to follow. Please contact Katie Doyle with any questions ( ktkc09@gmail.com ).

We are in the process of planning for staffing for next year. The biggest factor in staffing, classroom size, and initiating a wait list is student enrollment. Reregistration forms are due and these are vital to our future planning. Please send in your forms to the front office.

Mrs. Acevedo is beginning the planning for our 2019 International Night! If you are interested in helping to coordinate, please contact Mrs. Acevedo.

God bless,

Daniel Cinalli

Mr. Peace Visits St. Michaels
Many of our students had an opportunity to speak with Mr. Peace after his presentation and share their experiences being Peacemakers.

Some of our students were so moved they wrote letters to teachers, the principal, and to Mr. Peace as well sharing their thoughts and emotions.

Mr. Miller organized a math scavenger hunt with a Pokemon theme around campus for our students to race through. Students had to solve and catch'em all to win the race! What a fun and energetic way to learn math. Way to go Mr. Miller!
Ms. Basitdas organizes our fourth grade students into groups for Math class. Students use manipulatives and work on a fun activity exploring the concepts of spacial relationship and shapes.
Mr. K uses STEM kits with his students in STEM class to let them explore and create like mini-engineers. The sets let students create bridges, simple machines, or even a helicopter!
Mr. Miller uses Kahoot in Honor's Math to review content to ensure students are mastering the concepts. These entry and exit tickets help guide instruction and pacing in a fun and competitive way.
God who created me,
You offer me new life through your Son
and through the gift of your sacraments.
While I see new life all around me,
I don't always recognize the new life you offer me.
Help me to grow this Lent in an awareness
of the gifts you place in my life
and in a greater appreciation for your care.
Give me the courage to ask for help.
