Principal's Notes
Dear Parents and Families,

Welcome to the start of the 2018-19 School Year at Saint Michael School! I pray everyone's summer was full of fun and relaxation. I and our teachers cannot wait to see all of our students again next week, and meet many of our new friends who will be joining our school. We have many new and exciting things added to our school over the summer that I am excited to share with the community when I see everyone next week at Back to School Night. Please see below for some notes to ensure that everyone is ready to start the school year off on the right foot.

Our New Family and Kindergarten orientation is tonight in the All Purpose Room at 7:00 PM. We look forward to meeting our new friends and introducing ourselves as well.

The first day of school is this Monday, August 27th. Parents can begin dropping students off at the main entrance (Door #1) at 7:15 AM. It is an early dismissal day and students will be dismissed at 11:30 AM.

Back to School nights are next week. 1st-3rd grade will be Tuesday, August 28th at 7:30 beginning in the All Purpose Room. The 4th-8th Back to School Night will be Wednesday, August 29th at 7:30 beginning in the school Cafeteria.

BeforeSchool Care will begin the second week of school. Registration forms will be sent home the first day of school. We will give more information about morning drop-off, afternoon pick-up, and BeforeSchool Care at Back to School Nights next week.

Be sure to check for your child's class supply lists. They are available on this link: Click this text to access them.

Immunization, Hot Lunch, and BeforeCare/AfterCare forms will all be going home on the first day of school. Please be sure to look for these in your child's backpack and complete and return them to school.

Our uniform policy is available on the school website here. We will be taking extra care to ensure our students are in proper uniform this year, particularly with their shoes. " Boots, sandals, sneakers or athletic-style shoes are not acceptable. Sneakers are worn with the PE uniform only."

Below is the summer math information for the final time. I see the amount of questions answered has ramped up the past two weeks!

See you soon!

Trail Life
We would like to extend an invitation to the school families and invite families interested in learning more about our American Heritage Girls and Trail Life scout troops to our information event taking place
this Friday, August 24 from 7 PM to 8 PM in the All Purpose Room.
Our K-5 Students will be completing the SplashMath Summer Program this summer. The log in and information is on our website ( click here) , as well as a helpful video ( click here ). The Summer Math Program should be completed prior to next school year, and when completed is worth a test grade for the first quarter.

Our 6-8 students will be using Math IXL for their summer assignments. The instructions and lessons to complete are available on our school website under Parent Resources: Summer Assignments ( click here ). There is also a helpful video on how to complete the assignment ( click here ). The log in/username for students is either: firstnamelastname865 OR lastnamefirstname865. The password for all is: stmikes. Once all lessons are completed, it is worth a test grade for the first quarter.

Thank you to all who donated to our Hurricane relief drive. Mrs. Acevedo has shipped the materials out to the schools in need. The charity and compassion St. Michaels students show is always amazing to see!

During the summer, your favorite weekly newsletter will become a monthly newsletter. The St. Michaels Minutes will be sent on the First Tuesday of each month. I will be in the office and available via phone, email, or just stopping by throughout the summer.
