April 3, 2020
Dear Saint Paul School Community & Friends,

I n our prayers today, we ask you to remember For the homeless, unable to practice the protocols of social distancing in the shelter system: Protect them from disease, and provide isolation shelters in every city.

Some of our Grade 7-8 NJHS members are here to support our K-5 students! They are available to touch base on spelling words, math facts, or read a story. It might even be a wellness check-in! Please complete the short survey sent to you yesterday and we will be in touch shortly.

At 10:00 am today the faculty, staff and I joined together for a virtual retreat. It was wonderful to regroup together at the close of three week of remote learning to thank God for all the blessings in our lives and pray for continued strength, inspiration and good health.

Please remember that this new model of instruction of learning is as if we are first year teachers and it takes much longer to plan, present and provide feedback! Teachers will respond to email in a timely manner. We are all still navigating technology and if you have technological problems please reach out to Mrs. Heather Carroll at   [email protected]

Sincerely,
Principal

PREPOSITION CHALLENGE
Mrs. Woodgate's Preposition Challenge
As we know, a preposition is a word that connects a noun or a pronoun to a verb or adjective in a sentence. Prepositions can be tricky. But, memorizing common prepositions can help us to easily identify them in writing. Grade five has been challenged to memorize the attached list of 49 common prepositions before May 4th. Studies have shown that memorization improves neural plasticity, which helps maintain cognitive functioning (your brain is a muscle - it needs exercise).

Any student who achieves this memorization goal may choose a prize from Mrs. Woodgate's prize box, and will get his or her name added to the running list. Email a video submission to Mrs. Woodgate's SPS email ( [email protected] ) to win.
PRINCIPAL'S CHALLENGE
During this time away from school, it is important for all of us to balance our body and mind. Each day Principal Fasano is challenging our students to take a break from their learning and see how many of her favorite childho od activities they can complete!

Saint Paul School has done a fabulous job completing the "1st Round" of challenges.
Starting Monday, Ms. Fasano challenges you to comlete and enjoy the April Principal Cahllenges below (click image for PDF).

What can you complete this week?
