Dear Saint Paul School Community & Friends,
Today's message is for our students:
Gracious God, thank you for teaching us. You give us wisdom now to help us in the future. We are grateful for this time in which we may grow in faith, friendship, and the love of Jesus. Thank you for their curiosity, hope, and kindness. We pray for all students in our community.
While you are attending classes and completing schoolwork I thought I would share how I am spending my time working remotely from home.
On Monday’s I have two ZOOM meetings, one with Mrs. Breen and Mrs. Schnorr and another with our Specialist’s. The best part of the day is starting it with Rosary Club!
Tuesday’s are generally my day to conduct research and plan for the closure of the current school year, look at summer options, and how do we safely enter school in the fall. So yesterday I attended many webinars:
·Preparing for the end of the school year: Academic closure and year-end celebrations
·Preventing Summer Learning Loss: Strategies for Educators, Districts and Parents
·Reopening schools safely: Insights, successes, and lessons learned
·Back to School Practices in the New Normal
On Wednesday’s I have three ZOOM meetings and another two on Thursday – with your classroom teachers. We call these ILT Meetings or Instructional Leadership Meetings. We are currently talking and planning for end of year celebrations, drop-off and pick-up of materials and summer learning activities. Teachers also use this time to ask questions, share how their classes are going, and fill me in on student progress.
On Thursday’s I also have two ZOOM meetings with the Catholic Schools Office. I enjoy these meetings because I have the opportunity to meet with other Principals and hear what and how they are doing with remote learning.
In between all of the ZOOM meetings I am responding to email, troubleshooting technology and answering questions from teachers and parents.
I look forward to Friday when I limit my ZOOM classes. The morning starts with Liturgy and like you I use the day for catching up. I also use it to plan the upcoming school week so that I can have limited technology time over the weekend.
Each week is busy, and as I suggest to you, I am working on balancing my time between school and family.
I am proud of you and keep up the great work!
Sincerely,
Principal
