Dear Saint Paul School Families and Friends,

The response for Afterschool Enrichment opportunities has been amazing! This fall we offered 21 unique opportunities with a total of 60+ students participating covering over 200 available seats!  Registration forms were due today, and there are now wait lists for many activities. If interested please email me directly so I can confirm availability.  Paul Effman Music registration forms went home with Grade 1-8 students on Wednesday.  This form can also be found in ParentsWeb.

NWEA Map testing began this week.  Students are taking their time and putting forth their best efforts.  We look forward to our students continuing their academic growth this school year.  Please be sure students get a good nights sleep and healthy breakfast.

We have a very busy week coming up:
·       Afterschool Enrichment opportunities begin
·       Back to School Night Kinder-Grade 3 on Tuesday at 6:00 PM
·       Annual PTO sponsored Book Fair on Wednesday
·       Back to School Night Grade 4-8 on Thursday at 6:00 PM

Back to School Night – Come meet your child’s teacher(s) and hear about all of the great things going on at our school!  If you have more than one student on the same night, don’t worry, we will offer two presentations to meet and greet. We ask that childcare arrangements be made for students, as this is a night for our parents and teachers.

We continue to work to secure a music teacher for our school and students.  In the meantime, we have been planning lessons and arranging coverage from our substitute teacher list. When a qualified teacher has been hired a communication will go out.

Sincerely,
Principal

FALL NWEA TESTING
KINDERGARTEN ~ GRADE 8
September 9 – October 5

MAP ®  assessments are used to measure your student’s progress or growth in school. MAP ®  tests are important to teachers because they keep track of progress and growth in basic skills. They let teachers know where a student’s strengths are and if help is needed in any specific areas. Teachers use this information to help them guide instruction in the classroom.

Please make sure your students are well rested and have a good breakfast on their testing days.
We are very pleased to provide Before & After School Care for our families. Now in its sixth year as an offering, we have witnessed that this program has benefits for your child(ren) beyond the expected safe, familiar and fun care that supports your family needs and schedule. It is a joy to see this program grow as another wonderful opportunity for our students to build close friendships with children from all grades.

Please see our  website   for more details regarding 2019-20 Extended Day annual, monthly and drop-in rates as well as an  online registration form .

Please contact our Extended Day Coordinator,  Mrs. Jackie Bruno , with any questions.

This is a wonderful way to help our faculty & staff have the lunch break they deserve, while giving you the opportunity to see your children during the school day.  We are proud to be one of few schools with the opportunity visit with your children and their friends during lunch and recess. Help our faculty and staff keep children safe during lunch & recess, particularly in the unlikely event of an emergency.

Along with a faculty or staff member, you will help supervise your child's grade at recess (indoors in case of inclement weather) and in the lunch room; (ie: opening containers and wrappers).

Total time commitment = 40 minutes.
