Mass for Families and Children

We are looking forward to celebrating a Mass for families with young children (and celebrating the Feast of Saint Nicholas!) on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at 5:00pm. We hope you will join us in the Church. Saint Nicholas will stop by to surprise the children, and a craft kit and treat will be made available “to-go” for all in attendance.
During Advent... we will also host Reconciliation on Monday afternoons, 3:30pm – 4:30pm. This will begin on Monday, November 30, 2020.

Please join us as we celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception on Monday, December 7, 2020 at 5:00pm, or Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 8:45am, 12:15pm or 7:00pm. The vigil on December 7, 2020 and the 8:45am Mass on December 8, 2020 will be live-streamed on our parish website.
Diocesan Advent Resources

The season of Advent is fast approaching. It is a wonderfully meaningful time in the Church. However, this year certainly will be different as together we cope with the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. All of us have been experiencing changes at Mass and other liturgical and spiritual activities due to our need to be physically distant and safe in parish gatherings. With the current pandemic guidelines in place, the question remains as to how do we best prepare ourselves to celebrate Advent and Christmas with complete intention?

The Diocese of Cleveland is preparing a special resource page on its website,, to offer everyone a variety of user-friendly material aimed at helping to make this Advent and Christmas meaningful.
This new webpage will provide educational, formational and liturgical materials to be used by parishes, parish staffs, families and individuals to deepen their preparation and appreciation of the birth of Christ.

Survey for Christmas Liturgy

As our pastoral staff prepares for Christmas worship, we need your help to plan for our Christmas liturgies. Please take a moment to respond to our 4-question survey that will help guide these efforts (see below) by November 30, 2020. Due to COVID-19, Saint Rita Parish must adhere to strict social distancing requirements to keep everyone safe and to limit the spread of this virus.
Deck the Halls for
Family Promise

THANK YOU to all that helped make the inaugural year of Saint Rita’s “Deck the Halls for Family Promise” Christmas decoration donation drive a huge success. “Deck the Halls” lovingly shared the Christmas spirit for the homeless families currently in shelter at Family Promise including hand-sewn tree skirts, pre-lit Christmas trees, sparkly ornaments, fun window clings, custom nativity ornaments, Advent calendars and more! The families were so excited and thankful! God bless us, every one!
Annual Christmas Care and Share with Family Promise

Each year, Family Promise sets up a Holiday Store at the center and invites over 200 families to shop unwrapped gift items (free of charge) for their children from new donated toys, clothing etc. Presents are wrapped, tagged and bagged for transport home to be hidden until Christmas morning. To make a donation, please visit our website to learn more.

We are collecting donations December 5 and 6, 2020 after Masses and Tuesday, December 8, 2020 from 5:00pm – 9:00pm
