As we form our consciences for voting, we continue to examine Church teachings: The Catechism of the Catholic Church, Encyclicals of the Pope, and issue papers from the Office of the Doctrine of the Faith, list the following five issues concerning actions that are intrinsically evil and must never be promoted by the law.

Celebrate the Twenty-Ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Please join us this weekend as we celebrate the Twenty-Ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time. Our 5:00pm Vigil and our 9:30am Masses will be live-streamed on our website and on Facebook.

Faith, Hope & Healing Initiative at Saint Rita Parish
Thank you to all parishioners who have completed and submitted your Covenant Card. For those parishioners who have not yet had the opportunity to submit their card, a letter will be mailed to you with a personalized Covenant Card. We invite all faithful parishioners to complete a card as our parish goal is 100% participation! You may return your card by:

  • Mailing it to the church using the pre-addressed envelope included with the letter.
  • Bringing it to Mass next Sunday.
  • Visiting our parish website at and complete an electronic Commitment Card.

All cards need to be returned to the parish by Sunday, October 25.

Electronic giving is the preferred, easy, safe and secure way to give to our parish. To schedule a recurring electronic gift directly from your bank account or credit card, please visit our website and follow the instructions. We appreciate all parishioners using this means to support our parish.
Saint Rita Parish Ministry Updates
All Saints Trunk-O-Treat!

The Saint Rita Youth Ministry and the Saint Rita School PTU invite you to honk, shout, and wave for a drive-by Trunk-O-Treat on Saturday, October 31 from 11am - 2pm!

Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Create a pumpkin masterpiece for a chance to win prizes! Three winners will be selected for Best Overall (Judges' Favorite), Best Halloween Theme, and Most Creative. Keep an eye out for a post on our Facebook page where you can share your picture. Winners will be announced at the All Saints Trunk-O-Treat on October 31!

Thea Bowman Prepares for a Virtual Fundraising Event
For more than 50 years, Thea Bowman Center has been present to the people of Mt. Pleasant. We could not have done it without the support of Saint Rita Church.
Join us now for a virtual benefit! For three days we will highlight our role in the community, describe educational efforts to address the digital divide, and share the joy experienced at Thea Bowman Center. A group of supporters have promised to match all donations up to $32,000 raised during the three days! Join the Saint Rita Youth Group for Teen Hangout Night

Teens are welcome to join the Saint Rita Youth Group on Sunday, October 25 from 5:30pm to 7:00pm in Mazanec Hall. Bring your mask and join us for some safe, social distancing fun!

Teen Bible Study

High School Bible Study is back! All high school teens are invited to join our weekly Bible Study each Sunday from 10:40am-11:40am. A special virtual Bible Study will take place on Sunday, November 1 from 6:00pm - 7:00pm.

The Saint Rita Wreath Sale is Back!
Time to order your live Christmas wreaths, tabletop trees, or centerpieces!

In-person order and pick up: Order forms are available in the Gathering Area after Mass. The Youth Group will sell wreaths in-person after all Masses the weekend of October 24 and 25. Pick up will be available after all Masses on Sunday, November 29.

Order online and delivery: If you prefer to order online, you may do so here. Please enter code STRITAOH001.
Orders placed online will be delivered directly to your home. Orders placed online are NOT available for pick up from the Church.

All orders are due by Wednesday, October 28.

56 Days Left to Go Until #weGIVECATHOLIC Giving Tuesday!


Please join us in our 4th annual #weGIVECATHOLIC campaign, and help us to raise money for new, academic curriculum resources for grades K-8, and fund a huge Mazanec Hall renovation. This includes improvements like state-of-the-art flooring, bleachers, new paint, a Falcon Café, and other cosmetic updates. Every student and every Saint Rita Church parishioner utilizes Mazanec Hall. Your donation will help u to make significant updates to this space for all in our community!

Parish and Diocesan Meetings and Events
Collection for World Mission Sunday
The Church celebrates the month of October as Mission Month. The Propagation of Faith has announced its collection for WORLD MISSION SUNDAY on the weekend of October 17 and 18. Called by our Baptism as Missionary Disciples, your generosity will reach Pope Francis’ Missions as far as Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Pacific Islands and Europe. You will find an envelope in your monthly packet, or you may visit Faith Direct and make your offering. Let us serve the most vulnerable communities of our world.
Holy Hour and Benediction
