Who is my neighbor?

The Gospel last Sunday included the familiar parable of the good Samaritan.

Jesus asked the lawyer the question, "Which of these three, do you think, was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?" The lawyer responded, "The one who showed him mercy." Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise."

In that spirit, St. Columba's seeks to show mercy to those in our community by forming an outreach program. At its heart, an outreach program promotes community service and engagement to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals and groups outside the church's immediate circle.

If you are interested in meeting to discuss ways in which St. Columba's can make this positive impact in our wider community, please send an email to sandra.s.howard@gmail.com letting her know what days/times would work for you to meet.

Spencer Sacco burial

Sunday August 17th

Our beloved Organist and Choir Director, Spencer Sacco, died on Easter Wednesday,April 23, 2025.

On Sunday, August 17, on what would have been his 80th birthday and retirement date, we will inter his ashes in St Columba’s churchyard immediately following the 9 AM Sunday service.

A festive coffee hour in celebration of Spencer’s life will follow. Please mark your calendars and join us.

Into Paradise may the angels lead you. At your coming, may the martyrs receive you, and bring you into the holy city Jerusalem.

Summertime and the giving is easy

As we all enjoy the summer season and the opportunity for travel and rest, please continue to remember St. Columba's in your giving.

The chapel runs on the generosity of its members and online giving makes it easy to remember St. Columba's even when you are traveling.

Don't forget that Realm, our new church management software, allows you to review all of your donations and to check on where you are in your 2025 pledge giving.

If you have any questions concerning how to join Realm, please contact Sara Barker, our parish administrator.

If you have questions concerning your giving record, please contact Sandra Howard, St. Columba's treasurer, at sandra.s.howard@gmail.com. Thank you for your generosity.
