Many of you know that VCHS is a Member of Council of The Council for Educational Standards and Accountability (CESA), and for their member school leaders, they hosted The Oxford Leadership Intensive. The mostly British speakers challenged us to think more deeply about leadership, business strategy, and the future of education. As well, we were able to visit three high schools – one in Oxford and two in the Cotswolds. And finally, the fellowship with school leaders from across the U.S. along with new British friends was remarkable.
I was inspired in my desire to see VCHS continue to provide rich educational experiences – including life shaping ones, just like the one we had. In that vein, I’ll close with two quotes that I quickly captured on my iPhone while listening to two different speakers.
I didn’t want to teach the curriculum;
I wanted to tickle the imagination. – Lord Michael Hastings
Children can only aspire to what they know exists. – Ger Grauss
