HEAD OF SCHOOL MUSING

VCHS parents rose to the 5 Days | 5 Reasons challenge last week! Almost 40% of our parents have already made a gift to the All Saints Fund. Thank you so much to all of those who participated last week and who are listed on the Parent Honor Roll. If you haven’t yet made a gift, it’s not too late. Feel free to do that here. We will continue to update the Parent Honor Roll through the end of December.

Through parent support, so far we have raised $72,960 towards our overall $275,000 All Saints Fund goal. This exceeds last year’s amount raised through early December. With additional parent support, as well as through our alumni, alumni parents, grandparents and friends, I’m certain we will reach, and even exceed, our goal.

Thank you to all of our Class Captains listed below. Thank you so much for your support of our students, teachers, and school. And finally, I thank God for His blessings on Vail Christian. It’s a great time to be a Saint!

David Yarrow Art Experience

By special invitation from David Yarrow, a world-renowned fine art photographer, Mrs. Cofelice, Ava Garrison, and Aria Webster attended an Artist's Reception in Vail and were also invited to his professional photoshoot to see the "behind-the-scenes" process involved in a high-end photography production. The scene was set at the legendary Silver Dollar Saloon (founded in 1879) in Leadville with celebrities and models including Cara Delevingne, Gerard Butler, and even Clyde the celebrity Bison who recently appeared in the Yellowstone season 5 premiere.

OFF CAMPUS SPOTLIGHTS

Swimming

Congratulations to Saint, Charlotte Halk '23 who competed in the 26th annual

St. Croix Coral Reef Race - a 2.3 mile swimming race ending with a run though palm lined shoots.

Against challenging conditions including waves and swells, Charlotte finished in 1 hour and 9 minutes. She placed first for junior girls, sixth out of 27 in the female category and twelfth overall out of a field of 47 swimmers.

The race celebrates its 26th annual swim which was founded to showcase the beautiful marine habitat of St. Croix and to raise awareness of environmental issues impacting our oceans. The race has attracted swimmers from across the globe including many Olympic gold medalists.

Trap Shooting

Bravo to Saint, Juliet Studness '24 who placed in the top 3 in 10 out of 13 events in the Lady 1 Category of the Nevada State Championship Trap Tournament. Juliet won the 2nd place High Overall Trophy with a combined score of 1010 hits out of 1100 targets. This is her first All American qualifying event of the 2022-2023 season.

VCHS Honor Scholarship - Deadline December 2, 2022

The Vail Christian High School Honor Scholarship provides the Vail Valley with a prestigious academic scholarship award for rising 9th grade students. Recipients receive 50% off tuition, renewable for 4 years.

STUCO Stocks the Shelves

STUCO had a hugely successful canned food drive. Nearly 1200 cans were donated by our Saints families to the Salvation Army food bank!!! We tied last years numbers in a shorter period of time. The Salvation Army is very grateful for all of our donations as their shelves were empty on Monday morning!
